Abbie is a normal kid with an amazing talent. She is currently a freshman who attends Deer Park High School. When asked about where she got her talent from, she says that both of her parents are artist so she’s grown up around it her whole life. She says that ever since she was a kid shes been drawing since she was a litte kid. “I guess natural talent got me to be somewhat good at artist but the only way you can get better is if you practice. Both of my parents are artists so I guess I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. I love art.” Abbie also says that she prefers sketching to actually painting.
When asked about Abbie, Ms. Landers was very positive about her and her artwork. When asked about her favorite piece from Abbie she was quick to respond, “She made a piece where she personified different mental illnesses like insomnia.” She also expressed how she got inspiration from her: “I was so inspired by her art that I looked up the artist she used for my art 1 class and used the idea of personification.”
Abbie draws every moment she can whether it be in between classes for 3 minutes or during xbell for 30 minutes. She is a firm believer in the saying “practice makes perfect”.
